Asset Management Sector
Director: Marija Bubalo
In order to revitalize the banking sector and to support economic growth, Croatian Government rehabilitated completely six banks. The rehabilitation was implemented through writing offs, recapitalization and replacement of bad assets and banks liabilities with rehabilitation bonds.
Bad assets and liabilities, collateral (mortgages, fiduciaries) and shares in the commercial companies acquired by banks before or during the rehabilitation process, were transferred to the State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Rehabilitation.
Asset Management Sector has been in charge of these transferred assets, with an aim to collect the largest amount of claims through company’s consolidation, privatization, bankruptcy proceedings, by sale of receivables and mortgages taken as collateral for the loans, including also the sale of ownership in the commercial companies. |
